iBook resolution and monitor questions

I've been meaning to purchase a monitor that I can use for my iBook as well as double as my TV.

However, my question is, since my iBook (late 2004) can only go up to 1024x768, do I have to purchase a monitor that has that same max/native resolution, or can i buy something like this?
