iBook serial number location

Hi,

I am trying to find the serial number of my girlfriend's iBook but it is not where I would normally find it. Under the 'About this mac' pane the Serial Number is blank, as it is under system profiler.

I have also checked for the label in the battery bay and it is not there. The only think I can find is a label on the underside of the keyboard, no the frame of the laptop.

I don't think that is the serial number, according to the Apple website it should be in the battery compartment.

Any advice as to where else I can look?

According to this Apple document, it's either in the battery compartment or else it's under the keyboard. My gf's old iBook has it under the keyboard.
