ibook wifi connection timing out

hey so my wireless internet was working fine for a very long time, randomly i was on my ibook and my internet timed out for about 30 seconds. this is a problem because it signs me out of msn, will not load web pages, and stops any downloads i have going. the timeout occurs every 5 minutes or so. i dont think it is my airport card because my imac and sisters pc also have similar problems. should i get a new router? or could it be somthing deeper in my network? HELP ME ITS SOOO ANNOYING. it reconnects after awhile, ive tried resetting my router and turning my airport card off and back on
