Ibook: will a clean install break screen spanning doctor?

Hi all,
Been searching for a definitive answer on this specific question.
I will soon upgrade my (perfectly functioning since 2005) ibook from Tiger to Leopard (finally)!
Since SSD is a firmware hack I'm not sure if the preferred option of a clean install will break the hack.
Does anybody know?

Even if it does, you can just re-install it post HDD upgrade, no?
