iBook won't boot.

Hello. My iBook doesn't boot. I accidentally hit it, not hard, but not a light tap either, while it was turned on, and it then turned off by itself. When I turned it on again, it just goes to a grey Apple screen with no spinning spokes and it just stays that way until I hold down the power button to turn it off.

Would I be able to get it to boot again by running off OS X discs and using Disc Utility to repair permissions, or is this beyond that?
