So I'm not sure what the problem here is, but the ibook worked fine, then pretty much went blank and never woke up. Not sure what to do here, but before the whole thing stopped working, the computer wouldn't go to sleep when you closed the screen, and I'm wondering if something overheated? The computer still sees the charger (turns green because the battery is charged) but other than that the computer is unresponsive. Any ideas on what to do?

I had the same exact problem with my 1.2ghz G4 iBook. It was that U-28? chip problem on the motherboard. It prevented my iBook from starting up but would turn on and the fans would spin at full speed. Taking it apart and applying pressure seemed to temporarily fix it to retrieve my data and wipe the drive.

I'll see if I can find that link for you.
