I have iTunes and iBooks set on my macBookPro. iCloud is set to share everything except iDrive and Keychain. But I can only get list of collections in iBooks on my iMac.
Not quite sure how to search for the answer on such question and how to set up things.
Basically, I want to read my books on other macs too not just on iPad or macBookPro.

Ok, just one thing to check - are the books you're trying to sync ones purchased from the iBooks store? If they are ePub or PDFs then iCloud won't sync these, and you'll have to do it via iTunes.

On your Mac:

  1. Open iBooks and choose View > Show Purchases in iCloud.
  2. Select iBooks > Preferences > General. Then, select the option to “Sync bookmarks, highlights and collections across devices”. This setting should be on by default.

On your iOS devices:

Open Settings > iBooks. Then, select the options to “Sync Bookmarks” and “Sync Collections”.

I see. They are epubs and pdfs. What a set back. ;-)
But fear not. I indeed can share them through iTunes or filesystem.
Thanks a lot. Subject closed.
