iBooks app can now be downloaded in the appstore, but it appears that only a few handful of books have been made available yet.

Here's hoping that shelves will fill up quickly. I want Goethe!

Just as a general query, is the UK app store going to be boosted by an influx of new apps on Friday?

I've been doing abit of app shopping and research prior to receiving my iPad, but noticed a number of apps (not just including iWork apps or US-specific apps such as Netflix) weren't available on the UK store yet. Are they likely to go live on Friday do we think?

It's probably worth mentioning that you can happily purchase your ebooks from whsmiths or waterstones online then strip the drm. It's easy to do and allows you to read them on whatever device you want including the iPad.

I've used this to move my books from my Sony PRS300 to the iPad.

Haven't done much reading on the ipad yet, will stick to the sony for the beach on my upcoming holiday as not risking the iPad there!

Also, I found my Goethe on the Gutenberg site in the .epub format, which I can just drag on iTunes and it will appear in iBooks, which is cool!
