Does anyone know if the iBooks update plays well with a jailbroken iPhone 4S on iOS 5.0.1? I don't want to update and lose access to DRM books.
Thanks in advance
I apologize for a second thread on this subject

Works fine for me. (5.0.1 JB iPhone 4). I dont have any paid books, but I have a bunch of free ones, and they open fine.

4s on 5.0.1 JB, and no issues here with the books I have.

Are all of your books freebies, or did you buy any of them from the iBookStore? Free ones seem to always work, but ones with DRM sometimes have problems. I have downgraded iBooks in the past, but it is a pain.

I went ahead and updated. The Steve Jobs biography opened just fine.

I updated my iBooks last night (from v1.2, which was crashing), and now when I open it, it says "Configuration Error: There is a problem with the configuration of your iPhone. Please restore with iTunes or redownload iBooks".

It's a jailbroken 3GS with 5.0.1.

I'm just trying to figure out how to fix it, esp since Apple probably stopped signing 5.0.1.

You might want to see if you have a copy of the previous iBooks. I managed to downgrade iBooks by removing the newer version from my iTunes folder on my Mac and replacing it with the older version from my Time Machine backup.
That said, the new version seems to be working just fine on my 4S running iOS 5.0.1. I have been able to open purchased books with no errors.

If you jailbroke early, before they got iBooks fixed, then you need to update Corona untether (or install it if not installed).

Where do you gt free books from? Is there a store outside of Apple's iBook store where you can get books from?

Thanks. :)

Ah.. I guess I had to purchase at least one book from the iTunes book store because I had none.. so I purchased a free book and "Books" magically popped up in iTunes, yay!
