iBooks won't install?

Hey guys,

I've been trying to put iBooks on my iPhone 4 (Verizon) today but have been having trouble putting it on my phone. When I go to install it the icon pops up on my homescreen, says "waiting" for a few seconds, then disappears. If I go back into the app store it still has "free" next to it like I never tried to install it. I've done both a regular shut off and a soft reset with no luck in getting different results. Can anyone help?

If you have access to a computer I'd try to sync with iTunes. Sometimes apps get "stuck" and it's necessary to plug into iTunes.
