iBookstore - release and later get an ISBN?

Can I sell a book on the iBookstore without an ISBN, and after some time, get an ISBN for the book?

Or if the book is going to have an ISBN, do I need to release it with that ISBN right from the start?

According to http://www.apple.com/itunes/content-providers/book-faq.html you don't need an ISBN to publish on iBookstore.

...thing is I might want an ISBN later down the line.

So I'm looking to find out if I can add one in later even if I don't release the book with an ISBN
