I use iCal as my main calendar on my MBP and my iPhone... everything goes in there.

I've recently started using my Nexus 7 a lot more. Is there a way to sync iCal and Google calendar so that events I enter into iCal appear in Google calendar AND events I enter in Google Calendar appear in iCal?

Thanks in advance

Just add google calender to iCal in preferences (accounts) - I use mine across android, mac and iPad and it syncs seamlessly.

Thanks for the replies guys ... I'm gonna try some of the suggestions now ... fingers crossed!

UPDATE

I couldn't get sync working as suggested, so I went with smooth sync as suggested by marc11...

Check out smooth sync for ical in the play store works great.

Thanks again for all the help guys

Sorry, I didn't realise that feature had been discontinued - but glad you found a solution.

Syncing google calendar with iCal

I have tried caldav option. Everything looks like it was set up but my calendars are not synced. Does anyone know how I can do this. I need my google calendar and ical to automatically be synced. Is this possible?

How does your google account look under the accounts menu in system preferences? When I added my gmail account to sync with mail it automatically syned my calendar and contacts. You could try deleting the account and readding it through system preferences

EDIT: Also check that the google account is set as the default calendar

You want a new event that you enter in a single, particular Google calendar to appear in a single, particular iCloud calendar and vice-versa?

I think everyone else here is suggesting ways to have two differently hosted calendars appear on all devices...not ways to make them updateable clones of each other.

The only service I've seen that hints it can do this is memotoo.com, a paid service. I think I tested it last year and wasn't thrilled with the results but maybe you should give it a shot. There's a limited, free version.
