I'll try and keep this edited as short as possible:
I run a mac mini and a mbp, both of which are connected to my MobileMe account. I use MM to coordinate my calendars, contacts, etc. And I have been using 5 separate calendars for different areas of life.
Yesterday, while she was trying to schedule something for me on my work calendar, my Mother on the desktop computer deleted the entire calendar for work.
Unfortunately, she didn't catch her mistake in time, and it subsequently deleted from everything that's connected to mobileme -- my MBP, iPhone, just like MM is designed to do.
After my own little panic attack I realized that this is just what I keep a time machine backup for. So, after finding out how to restore my calendar, I went into the time machine backup and brought the latest calendar save file forward.
It re-wrote over the calendars folder, and it restored the work work calendar.
For a half second.
Then iCal synced itself with MM, and promptly deleted the work calendar again.
I proceded to tinker with MM's sync preferences -- including turning off sync, restarting sync, and ordering MM to use the iCal on the computer to overwrite the calendar on MM.
Every time I open iCal, after going through those steps, iCal syncs with MM and overwrites the work calendar, forcing me to start all over again.
I even turned off the sync with MM completely, in the System Preferences pane and made sure it was off in iCal. Then restored from time machine. While the MM preferences were still off, iCAL STILL SYNCED TO my MM account, through what I assume is CalDAV.
Does anyone know how I can force iCal on my computer to completely overwrite the synched data through the CalDAV link so that it restores my work calendar?
