iCal date change and mouse wheel

It seems that one change for the worse with the Leopard version of iCal is the inability to change the date and time by rotating the scroll wheel on the mouse. This was a nice feature in older versions, and I miss it in the new one. Especially since it STILL doesn't seem able to set an alarm on the date of an event (picking the previous day at 11:45 PM) and needs to be changed every time.
Does anyone know if I am missing a setting regarding the scroll wheel?

anyone? This is baffling to me that its not there anymore. It also takes 2 clicks to edit the details. Open then edit. Not very Apple like...
