Perhaps I'm not pursuing this properly, but does anyone else find it annoying and strange that you can't do this:
In iCal, for a calendar, you should be able to select an account you have set up in Mail as the "default" account for that calendar. That way, invitations and responses are always sent from that account associated with the calendar.
Anyone?
