ical: make day darker?

Hi all,
how do I make the actual DATE stand out more? The default colour seems a bit faded and it takes me a few seconds to find the actual day we're up to. I'd love it to say HERE! DATE! But instead it's this pale pastel orange.

Are you talking about Week view or Month view?

I don't know if you can change that, but maybe someone else will.

My ancient version is set to Month view, and the box for today's date does not have a different appearance from other dates in the main calendar. But in the "mini calendar" today's date is much darker. If I switch to Week view, today's date is bold.
