iCal New Event issue since upgrade to Lion

Now that I have upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion, every time I enter a New Event into iCal, it doesn't automatically save the event upon re-opening iCal. For example, I double click to create a new event and enter "Do payroll." iCal shows Do Payroll properly in the date until I close iCal. Upon opening it no longer says Do payroll but it is replaced with "New Event." Oddly enough, if I enter Do Payroll again, it will persist upon closing and re-opening the second time I enter it. It just never seems to save the event upon reopening until entered again the second time.

This seems to be a problem that others are having as well (me included). I'm guessing it's an Exchange <-> iCal problem.

I wonder if this is plaguing me as well. I just figured it was the wife errantly creating a new event and then not deleting it or populating the information. I have been deleting them from my calendar!! Oops!
