iCal not synching-says using MobileMe acct--which does not exist

I let my Mobile Me account lapse about a year ago. Suddenly my iPhone 3GS will not sync one of my 4 Calendar accounts with my MacBook. I get error message from the iCal on the MacBook saying that the iPhone cannot sync with the iCal because of the Mobile Me account.
Setting on iPhone says to sync all events/all calendars
Preference on iCal does not say anything about Mobile Me

Suggestions?
