I updated to OS 10.5.6 and now an application called "iCal helper" keeps launching and appearing in the dock. It is not set up to launch on login and if i close it, it will re-open and appear in the dock a little while later. I can't drag it off the dock because it keeps re-appearing.

Does anyone know what iCal helper is and why I can't get it off my dock?? I've attached a picture, uhhh, just for fun I guess... Thanks for the help.

oops... do a google search on 'ical helper' and you get info about it.

When I do a google search for "iCal Helper in my Dock" the first result is an unanswered thread I started on the Apple support pages. I briefly talked to a Genius at the Apple store and he had no idea. This computer has been nothing but a pain in the ass since I bought it (software wise). It think I'm just going to re-install everything.

Thanks for the ideas, but I really dont think there is anyone out there who knows why the iCal help keeps launching and appearing in my dock.
