iCal won't back up in Snow Leopard

So...I put in a new hard drive, did a clean install of Snow Leopard in my 2008 MacBook and attached my iPhone to sync. ICal did not sync, but did wipe all of my data off my iPhone. Any help with recovering my data--where does iCal backup in my Carbon Copy Cloner Backup? And how do I get iCal to sync going forward? thank you!
