I sent this to my sister and mom.

I've only sent about two iCards before, but still, I thought I'd say a last good-bye.

More than a tribute... a plea!

Sent to Steve Jobs

I am very upset with Apple for nixing the .Mac services... especially iCards.

They were simple, they were elegant, and they didn't plaster recipients with advertisements, HTML, and flashing GIFS.

I got responses from sending iCards I never got from sending emails... not even emails with pictures. The combination of whimsical images and text in one small, savable JPEG in the iCard message was hard to resist.

Despite some less handsome alternatives, iWant Apple iCards Back!!

There are two petitions clamoring for Apple to bring back iCards. Feel free to join the chorus!

Sign them both!

iCards censorship

Apple's Discussion moderators deleted this comment from an iCards thread , so I'm plastering it all over the Web:

"Everyone, call Apple Customer Relations at this number to complain (I found it was the best # to call after trying several). They say number of complaints matters.:

PopCard.me might be worth looking at as an alternative. You can even install it on your own website if it supports PHP.

Have you seen any of the cards made with the Popcard script? Besides, who wants to muck around with installing scripts on a website when you can just use an app as simple as PostCard??

It's obvious that iCards are not coming back, so I have spent many hours combing image search engines for Apple iCard images. You can download them here:

I downloaded most of them too right before they closed it

Thanks for the info folks about PostCard, that looks pretty nifty!

Cool! I wish I had thought of doing that myself before they went offline.

How many images do you have? Would you be kind enough to share them with us??

There are number of Apple's images I have not been able to find yet. Also, I am collecting/uploading only all-occasion/multi-purpose images... no birthday, holiday, or patriotic iCards... so you might save someone else some searching and message cleaning by sharing.

YW! PostCard has been around since Jaguar. I've worked closely with Steve Dekorte, PostCard's developer, to work out the bugs left over from the old version of OS X. At my request, Steve has added several features, too.

Here is my review of PostCard on Flickr:

You'll find my review of other alternatives below in the comments under the photo. It looks like it's been updated recently. I wasn't impressed with the font rendering in the old version.

Also, I didn't realize that the script's author had set up a card-sending website. That's new. I'll add a review for PopCard.me under my PostCard review.
