I use Ice. Hidden Bar doesn't solve the issue of running out of room due to the notch. Ice allows you to show the hidden icons in a row below the menu bar, where it won't get blocked by the notch. I just downloaded the latest Hidden Bar to see if they've added that ability and I don't see it.
I noticed this too. And after playing with autohide of the menubar, my Ice completely broke - no longer supporting the display of icons below the menubar, which is what I count on.

The latest beta (beta 2) for 11.13 fixes all this and is usable with autohide of the menubar turned on. Actually, version 11.13 is the version intended to support Tahoe.
