Hi Fellow Mac Users...

I have a question...

IceClean 3.0.6 has just been released. This is a free maintenance utility, similar to OnyX, but with many more features. I have never used it before, but a number of folks have used previous versions and really like it...except for one person who used version 3.0.5 and declared that it destroyed his system.

WARNING! - Version: 3.0.5, 5/31/2008 07:31PM PST

How can it be that some people have liked this piece of ****? Or is it just version 3.05 that is DANGEROUS?

Macbook Pro, Core 2 duo Intel. Was running 10.52. I launched this thing to try it out and I ran a few innocent routines. Like clear caches, that sort of thing. Nothing risky and I sure as hell did not change any settings. I've been using Macs since 1988 and I know what I'm doing...and what not to tinker with.

Well, this thing completely destroyed my syste4m. i had to do a complete fresh reinstall. And, since my 10.5 install disc is not here in this apartment with me, I am now consigned temporarily to 10.4 until I can get to my office.

This thing ate up asn entire day. Guess I should jst be grateful that I was able to do a clean install.I sure as hell had my doubts for some hours that my nice new MacBook Pro would even recognize and act on a 10.4 install disc.

If any of you decide to launch this thing and try it out, don't blame me. I want it off kmy machine for good. It's not just useless, it's the most dangerous bit of software I've seen in 20 years!

I have downloaded the newest version and so far there are no reviews on VersionTracker.com for it.

I was wondering if anyone on this forum has used it. I would like to know, "Is it safe to use?" and some feedback on the program itself.

Thanks.

no problem

I have used this program since the beginning and there is nothing wrong with it ! Have never had any problems with it.
