Has anyone figured out a way to keep iChat from being not-idle when you are using your computer but NOT using iChat. I really don't like the way it shows that I am around when I'm not using iChat. I get messages when I need to be getting stuff done, and I feel rude ignoring people. Now I could put up an away message, but I usually forget and then I'm suddenly stuck with someone IMing me and if I put up an away message than I am DEFINITELY ignoring them :) I liked the way AIM did it. It was idle as long as you weren't using the application.

You can change this by going into the privacy preferences in iChat.

Then you can check "Block others from seeing that I am idle".

This should prevent people from knowing if they're around or not.
