iChat and iMessages

My brother just bought a new Macbook Pro 13 and I have a Macbook Pro (2009). He has Mountain Lion and I have just Lion, he has iMessage and I have iChat.
We have been trying to share screens but it hasn't been possible.
Is there any way to do this?
