I was making a backup of a DVD and well, I did so during the night, so I didn't put my powerbook to sleep like normally. Instead it ripped and encoded a movie. Then when I got up, I burned it. Well, after burning I went to play it and got all these DVD artifacts (multi-colored dots everywhere). I assumed it was because the DVD drive was working overtime for the last few hours so I shutdown the computer to let it 'cool off'. That fixed the DVD problem, however, my iChat preferences weren't being recognised and my Account Icon was the generic one. I had to set up iChat again, no biggie, but I am curious to why this happened?

(my laptop had been on for 4 days)
