MacBookPro 2.16, 2 GB ram, Intel Core Duo, iChat 4.0.2, Mac OS 10.5.2

I am having both Audio and Video Issues with my iChat. Here are some issues. First, when I am text chatting, the person to whom I'm chatting's text comes in double. I see two of their icons and callout. It's a double-double. So every time they text, it comes in twice in a row, and then I text back and it comes in single, as it's supposed to, and then followed by two of the same response from them. That's not so bad, but the next issues follow:

People send me audio and video invitations, to which I ACCEPT, but it shows them that I declined and the message displayed to me is "Disconnected from Video Chat because ... Did not receive a response from ______", but the other person invited me. When I initiate the video chat, the same things happens.

However, I was able to invite someone to audio chat with me successfully, after they invited me and we got the same message that I declined their invitation when I had actually accepted their invitation.

I always close the previous chats before initiating chatting again.

What should I do to remedy the problems with the double-text from the other person, inability to accept audio chats, and inability to accept or initiate video chats (with people who have iSight). Also, not all audio chats that come in to me work. With some people, I accept the invitation, and it shows them that I declined and it shows me that they didn't respond.

Thank you for helping me be able to use iChat video and audio on my MacBookPro.
