Hi,

i've been using iChat AV for as long as it's been out, for video conferencing.
I currently live in Hong Kong and my family is back in Boston, and we chat with no problems. obviously, we both use Mac OS X, with iChat AV, and iSight... all mac... BUT.

my sister is a non Mac user... (don't ask why) and we would like to chat. in fact there must be dozens of people i know who use AIM 5.5. so is there really a solution? anyone with success stories, because i'm one lost cat here.

Thanks MacRumors forum.

iChat AV 2.1 public beta. Allows video conference with AIM users. It's beta and it's far from perfect, but it's a taste of things to come.

Yup,
tried the Beta version. it's got some problems... hasn't worked for me so far, so i'm just wondering if anyone has made it work.
i've switch back to iCHat AV for now, since the beta has some strange bug.
when i log on, i can not see anyone online, but the others can see me.
i need to restart the computer to make it work again... so unless it can actually video with AIM 5.5, i will stick to iChat AV.
