iChat Connection Problems

I'm a newbie to Apple and have put my screen name in on a AIM account-my router is set with the security settings allowing Wan and other users. After I try to connect with my friend who has an AIM account and another friend who has a .mac account I keep getting "not enough bandwidth...." I tested the bandwidth on 4 different testing services and all come out "superior" I cannot figure out the reason.........:...!@##@! Thanks, twobs
