iChat Erased

I log onto iChat, and it's completely empty. All my buddies have been erased. What the hell happened, and how can I restore everything?

I'm clicking the plus button to add a contact, and its not even showing up on the list. I have no idea wtf is goin on, first time this has happened. Can someone please help?

Clam down my friend. iChat does not store your buddies locally they come from the respective account servers.

Step 1: Log-in to each account if you multiple accounts such as AOL and Yahoo. Check your buddy list/s and make sure everything is there.

Step 2: drag all iChat preferences (com.apple.iChat.____.plist) to the trash do not delete them yet

Step 3: open iChat it should ask you to re-add your account/s do so

Your buddies should be back if not post back.

I don't know how to drag all iChat preferences to the trash.

But, my buddylist was completely blank. I just clicked the log off (username), and than when I clicked log on, all my contacts appeared.

I'm curious to know what the problem was.

The server-ichat sync had a glitch.
