iChat error -8 epidemic....is there any end in sight?

hey I just got my brand new MacBook running Leopard OS 10.5 and videochat nor audiochat would work. i was connected via at&t ethernet. I went on vacation and took the computer, hooking it up to Bellsouth ethernet and downloaded a recent softwre update.....voila, the video & audiochats worked flawlessly! However, when I got home and hooked the computer back to at&t the video and audio refuse to work again. I keep getting the infamous error -8which I have seen many many people write about with no real solutions. My internet sharing is off, my airport is off, I don't have safari beta...none of the suggestions seem to apply to my situation. Has anyone heard weather this problem will be dealt with in the next iChat update? I have a boyfriend who recently moved back to his hometown in Wisconsin and iChat was going to be a really nice way to see each other until I find a job there to move...lots of other people have the same personal complaints. I love my MacBook, but this is a problem that needs to be dealt with ASAP as it's a big selling point for many people. When it works, it's great. But when it doesn't it's a huge pain to the consumer AND Apple.
