Greetings all,

I'm looking to receive some help in rectifying errors that I'm encoutering when trying to connect with my family using iChat's audio services. Firstly, I should mention that I encounter no errors using video conferencing (with iChat), but when I attempt to connect to the same family member's computer using the audio chat option, I frequently encounter "iChat has encountered errors" messages, or it claims that I did not respond, which isn't the case. The end result is that we can't connect.

My family member has an iMac with the iChat built in, whereas I rely on a seperate iChat camera unit, and when I'm at a location where my camera is not, it's necessary to use the audio chat feature.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I think that it's important for you to initiate the chat, rather than the person with the video camera. IIRC there is some dependency here.

For an excellent iChat resource, I recommend this webpage.
