I can't seem to get these two to work together. I followed the instructions on setting up iChat on my mac and got my gmail account running on it and my friend got his gmail account running on Googletalk and we can IM each other on Jabber there but I can't talk to him. Every time he tries to talk to me it on Googletalk it says it won't because I am using something other than googletalk. How do I get around this?

What if anything am I doing wrong or is it just that google says there is talk functionality with the mac client when there really isn't?

Oh, are you trying to do voice chat? According to this page, that feature isn't supported using clients other than Google Talk. I'm afraid you can't :(

Well that sucks... then Googletalk is just another glorified messenger program for the mac... why does google hate the mac so? why i ask you why?? Why???
