I recently logged into iChat to find 80% of my buddy list missing! The only thing I have done differently was add a backup hard drive recently. Could aim be looking at an outdated file? did someone find out my password and randomly delete some people from my list? Has this ever happened to anyone before? What should I do?

my understanding is that the buddy list is kept on aim's server. do you use more than one screen name?

No I don't. I've logged on from other locations etc... and they all pull up the same list. My friend said this has happened to him before and its an AOL thing, but I've been using AIM for 8 years and its never happened to me. Very odd....if someone had my password, why would they delete some names and not others? just doesn't make sense...

if it is on aims server, then what do I do about that?
