i have been having this problem where i cant send an instant message on ichat. i open a chat and type something, but then it does not let me send it after i press enter. i also cant receive any messages but i can still video chat. i have tried restarting my computer, reinstalling ichat, and deleting certain ichat preferences many times... nothing seems to work! if you know what to do please help me

iChat is unresponsive...

Since iChat is part of the OSX install; how did you manage to install & uninstall it? What account are you using for it? i.e. Yahoo, gmail...
I cured my iChat problems by opening Activity Monitor and force quitting the process called "imagent" --> make sure you have ichat open first. iChat will then pop up a message saying that you were disconnected. Just reconnect and see if you troubles are gone.
