iChat issues

so all of the sudden iChat is saying that this computer does not support video chat... it was never like this before. Is there a way to reset the camera?

Do you have the iSight camera built-in?

Try repairing permissions thru Disk Utility.

First verify that your computer recognizes the camera by going to System Profiler. You can get tehre by going to apple menu --> about this mac --> more info. Then click USB which is at the bottom of the hardware heading in the left pane of the system profiler window. Look at the USB High-Speed Bus heading. You should see "Built-in iSight" listed. I don't believe repair permissions will do anything for you.
