Ok, so I checked through the archives and it seems people have mentioned similar issues with this before; however, I was not able to find and solutions as of yet. :( A brief description:

I use iChatAV (on Tiger 10.4.5) for my AIM chatting. I will log in while messing around on the web and iTunes for hours at a time and it seems that I will get a message stating that "iChat has disconnected at 1:54, 2:54, 3:54, etc."...like clockwork. This seems to be relatively new. The only thing that I have changed recently (last month-ish) is to activate the "use secure virtual memory" option in the System Pref-->Security, which for the life of me, I can't see affecting this...

Anyways, it's getting really frustrating and any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

Have you tried turning off secure virtual memory? Even though you wouldn't think it would do it, it might.
