Not really sure if this is normal, but iChat will be fine while I'm active on the computer but when I go out somewhere and come back when my MacBook went to sleep I'll put my password back in and then I'll see that iChat has been offline the whole time, but it'll sign back in.

Is there anyway to make it so iChat remains open the whole time even if I put it to sleep, let it fall asleep it self, with the screen saver, etc?

Thanks!

let me see if i understand, you are confused because your computer loses its network connection when its asleep?

when your computer sleeps it pretty much completly shuts down, it just stores everthing in ram and powers everything else off...

theres no way to keep it connected to the internet

Unless you set it to never sleep.

Go the Sys Prefs
Energy Saver

Then, move the top slider to the far right. It should then never go to sleep. You'll have everything running.
