iChat leopard problem

When i try to video chat with my friend it connects but we cannot see eachother and after a few seconds it says that i have recieved no datat for 10 seconds and it closes. any ideas on what i could do?

Is your friend using a mac? Could be a blocked port.

well how do i open a port? and yeah he is on an imac with tiger but i have leopard on a macbook if that makes a difference
