iChat menu bar

hey i have a question; is there anyway that you can make the ichat more complex in your menu bar, to the point where it displays if you receive an im and such.. like Adium does

No, there is currently nothing that will enhance the iChat menubar item like Adium's. But you can enhance iChat with Chax http://www.ksuther.com/chax/ and get Growl so that you get some notifications about new IM's and such.
