Hey Guys,

I logged onto my iChat account tonight to find a whole bunch of new contacts added to my list for random bots.

I did a search on the forums here, and found one guy with the issue too, he believed it was related to Safari 3, but i haven't installed Safari 3 or used it on any machine other than one at work, which has never been told my iChat name, so its definately not that.

Its adding: Prof Gilzot, WSJ, ShareThisDotCom, Spleak, Moviefone.

Has anyone else had this, or know what triggers it?

The only thing i can think of right now is that i use Twitter on AIM, and the password of my twitter account is the same as the iChat account - though i will be very disappoint if this is added by Twitter...

Thanks!

If you talk to someone who isn't a buddy, then close iChat and relaunch it, those people you talked to will appear in your list. Been happening for a while now.

Were you in a MacRumors iChat the other day for the keynote ?

Nope, not spoken to any of them - they weren't on my list this morning but are now.

Also, nope! I wasn't in the iChat... Still baffling to me!

Yep I've got them too, I was just about to make a post asking WTF was up, but then read your post. It's nice that AOL asks before adding random bots to my buddy list. Oh well time to delete.. Bye Bye Bots :)
