iChat not receiving messages

ichat seems to not be receiving my messages, when I write and hit enter I can only see the ichat bubble (attachment below), my friend can see my message but when he sends a message back I still see the same bubble, doesn't even look like he's sent a message.

Can anyone help me out please!

Try removing the account and set it up again.

Your last option is to uninstall iChat and reinstall it.

same problem

i seem to be having the same problem - my macbook pro is only a few months old and for the past week its been doing the same exact thing as the post above...

has anyone figured out a solution for this?!
