Trying to get my iChat to open but nothing is happening.
I've about deleting some "plist" files but I want to know if that is the correct path I should take.

I double click on my iChat icon in the dock and nothing happens.
I can't open if from Finder either in the app folder.

Thoughts?

You're jumping forward a couple steps. Proper Mac software troubleshooting dictates that you must test in another user account, which will define the issue as system-wide or user-specific. If there is no problem in another user account, go to ~/Library/Preferences on your original account and gut the iChat plists. If you get the same issue the problem is with the iChat application. Drag it to the Trash from /Applications and reinstall it from the Optional Installs package on your Mac OS Install DVD.
