iChat preferences not all there

I wanted to set my mom up to use her own AIM account on iChat, so I fired it up and went to preferences. Trouble is....Preferences isn't all there. The only things it shows are messages, and no ability to go between one program and the other.

I'm considering deleting the entire APP and reinstalling it from the install disk via Pacifist, but I wanted to check if anyone knew of a fix before I do that.
