iChat problem; can chat but cannot add buddy to buddy list

So I'm trying to add a buddy. When i do, his name will flash three times, then stop. About 3 seconds later, his name disappears completely from my list.

Now we can IM each other fine, so I don't know what the problem is.

I am having this problem, too. Does anybody know the remedy? I called Mac, but they wouldn't tell me what the problem is unless I pay them $40...

Does anyone know how to fix this issue? I'm experiencing it as well. Every time I add a buddy it adds, then disappears and says AIM Error: the request failed.

AIM must have been having problems today, because I was having this problem about an hour ago as well. It has since fixed itself.
