iChat Problems

My friend is pretty new to Apple, having just got her first Apple product (besides an iPod) a MacBook. However, she is having some troubles with iChat. When she tries to log on, no one shows up on the buddy list, and so she has been unable to use the program. She currently uses Adium, but would love to get iChat up and running agian. Anyone know what the problem is, or have any suggestions onto how to fix it? Thanks a lot.

i have this problem every once in awhile with ichat too. sadly i dont know how to fix it, i just wait and eventually it starts working again. so i also petition for the help of people who know what to do.

Maybe you can try reinstalling iChat? When I got on her computer, and used iChat under my sn, everything worked perfectly. Therefore, it just adds more mystery to the whole situation. Thanks a lot guys.
