iChat sign up problems

Hey.
Recently got my first mac and its been a treat so far.
Having a problem with signing up for iChat though. I signed up for an account using my hotmail account and every-time i log in it tells me my password is wrong. Its not. I have tried 3 accounts and changed my password on multiple occasions.

Does iChat have a problem with hotmail?

Any help appreciated.

Hotmail as in an MSN account?

iChat is an AIM client, so MSN will not work. Did you make your hotmail your AIM screenname?

sorry, realized i was making a lot less sense than i thought.

I signed up for the @mac.com account using my hotmail.com account.
I now sign in on iChat with my newly created @mac.com account and it simply keeps stating that i have entered my password wrong. Which i haven't.

I experience the same problem. I use my @mac.com id and every time I got and error message.

I have tried to reset my password, and it brought the same result.

Could anyone help us?

hi,
i've had the same problem and fixed it by using my mac.com login in the aim section.

just enter your full mac.com adress in the pseudonym box and it should work
