Ichat sounds not working

Hello
Since this morning my ichat is working right. When somone logs on, logs off, sends me and IM or i sent one i have it set to make the noise go off. but it stopped working. I went under prefrences and everything is set. I deleted my account and added it, but no luck. Whats going on?

Sure you're speakers are turned on? (Gotta check the basics first )
