iChat tells me someone else logged out when i do

whenever i log out of ichat and a certain person (Adam Chase) is "on," the program tells me "Adam Chase is gone" instead of "goodbye". this only happens when adam is on and is really annoying. if it makes a difference, i do have multiple (3) different sn's for him, but this doesn't happen with other people who have multiple sn's.
