iChat trouble, login loop

Lately I've been having trouble with iChat. It says I'm online, but it shows other people that I know are online as offline. Other times, it goes into a rapid loop where it keeps signing in and out of AIM until AIM refuses anymore attempts.

Ideas?

I've had this problem in the past at certain coffee shops near me. In the past I had luck with switching the iChat logon port to 443, a suggestion I believe I first stumbled upon while reading these forums. Your mileage may vary, of course, but that's worked for me in the past.
